Removable liner

Pull 'em out, throw 'em in the wash, dry by morning.

Warm to -20°F

For the moments your dog stops, looks at you, and quietly questions the plan. You keep walking. Toes stay toasty.

Slip-on, no laces

The whole point. Step in, cinch the cuff, leave. Anyone who's ever tied a frozen lace knows what we mean.

Lightweight

Most boots in this category are 2 to 3 lbs each. Your calves will not file a complaint.

Waterproof

Just waterproof. Step in a creek if you want. We'd love to keep you dry.

Two more boots.
Same Loon'r.

Why we built them
from foam

Most boots in this category are leather or rubber over an insulating layer. We made the whole thing from closed-cell EVA: the same foam in your sneakers' midsole, but molded into a complete boot. Here's what that buys you.

  1. Under 2 lbs a boot. Most boots in this category are 2 to 3 lbs each. Ours don't ask that of your legs.
  2. Warmer per ounce. Closed-cell EVA traps air. Air doesn't conduct cold. The math works out.
  3. Naturally waterproof. No DWR coating to wear off, no leather to crack. The shell is sealed because that's how foam works.
  4. Doesn't crack in cold. Leather stiffens. Rubber gets brittle. EVA stays flexible at -20°F.
  5. Doesn't get heavy when wet. It doesn't absorb water. It doesn't gain weight.
  6. Easier to clean. Garden hose. Done.
Removable liner lifting out of boot shell

The liner
is our secret

Open the cuff and the liner lifts right out. That's the part most other EVA boot makers don't do, and it's the difference between a boot that's dry by morning and one that's still damp Tuesday.

  1. Pull it out. Wet day? Liner sits by the heater, shell by the door. Dry by morning.
  2. Throw it in the wash. Cold gentle cycle, lay flat to dry. (Not the dryer. Never the dryer.)
  3. Swap it out. Two pairs of liners means year-round dry feet without buying a second pair of shells.
  4. Replace it. When the liner eventually wears out years from now, buy a new one. The shell keeps going.

Wear out the liner, not the boot.

Common questions

The stuff people actually email us about.

What size should I order?

+

Start with your normal shoe size, the one you think you are before a new brand tells you otherwise. Want a second opinion? Stand on a piece of paper with your heel against a wall, mark the tip of your longest toe, measure the distance in inches, and match that to our size chart. Our boots are unisex sized: the chart shows men's and women's columns side by side because the same physical boot fits both. If you fall between sizes, see the half-size question below.

Do they run small or big?

+

True to size. Order your normal shoe size. Between sizes? Size down. If your closet can't agree on what size you are, measure your foot (see above) and let the chart break the tie.

I'm between sizes. Up or down?

+

Size down. Our liner is built thick and breaks in after a few wears, so a snug-not-squished fit out of the box settles to just-right. Going up is where heel slip comes from: if your heel feels slippy after a few wears, you went a step too big. Order the smaller of the two, and exchange free within 30 days if it's not quite right.

Do they fit wide feet?

+

Yes, with caveats. The EVA shell is naturally roomy through the forefoot and doesn't compress around the sides the way leather does. Customers with bunions, wide forefeet, and EE/EEE width feet generally find them comfortable. EEEE+ width, we can't promise, but our 30-day return policy means it's a safe try.

Will they fit wide calves?

+

The Hi Flyer's cuff cinches with a draw-cord, and it gets roomier as the size goes up: about 19 inches around at M4/W5, 20 at M9/W10, 21.4 at M14/15. Pick your size and open Specs above to see yours. If your calf runs bigger than that, the Lo Rider stops lower on the leg. Email hello@loonr.com with a measurement and we'll confirm.

Are they stiff to walk in?

+

Not anymore. Our previous design used a stiffer EVA that customers (rightly) said went hard and brittle in the cold. Our Fall '26 redesign uses a more flexible EVA formulation tuned specifically for cold-weather performance, so the boots flex when your foot does, even when it's freezing outside. Day one, you'll feel a little break-in. Day three, you'll forget you're wearing them.

From the Van

We started this in a muddy parking lot.

Mud season at its finest. Dogs, gear, late nights, and the unfussy winter boots we'd picked up on a trip to Japan, which quietly became the MVPs of the whole week. Light, warm, waterproof, no fuss. The boots that handled deep snow at noon and a muddy parking lot at midnight without missing a beat.

The Hi Flyer is the version of those boots built for the conditions that made us obsessed in the first place.

Want a second opinion? Measure.

Stand on a piece of paper, heel against a wall. Mark the tip of your longest toe, then measure heel to mark. Match that number to the chart. Our boots are unisex, so the M and W labels are the same boot with different numbers. Between sizes or right on a line? Size down.

Snug is good. The liner breaks in after a few wears, so a snug-not-squished fit out of the box settles to just-right. And measure at the end of the day, when your feet are at their biggest.

Still on the fence? Email hello@loonr.com with your measurement and we'll point you to the right pair.

The Yuckproof Guarantee

Caring for the boots

+
Spray the EVA with the garden hose. Liner washes cold on the gentle cycle, lays flat to dry. Don't put the liner in the dryer. Don't store the boot near a heater. Don't stage your boots on the front step in July sun for the gram (the color holds up but UV is not their friend). Read the full care guide →
