No laces. No bending.

Dog at the door, coffee going cold, somewhere to be? Pull them on and cinch the cuff. The cinch lock holds it, so there's nothing to tie. Step on the heel tab to step out. The lugged rubber outsole grips on ice and slush.

Rated to -25°F and comfortable up to about +50°F. The foam, the removable liner and the cinch cuff work as one comfort control system, so they don't go back in the closet when the snow melts.

How did I live in the mountains without these boots?!

Your normal size. Really.

Sizing is the question we get asked most. Here's the whole answer.

  1. Order your normal shoe size. The one you were before a new brand told you otherwise. Sized like a normal sneaker, with room for a thick sock. US Women 5 to 13. US Men 4 to 14/15.
  2. Between sizes? Size down. The liner is built thick and breaks in with the boot, so snug out of the box settles to just right. Going up is where heel slip comes from.
  3. Called it wrong? Swap it.Exchanges are free for 30 days. Try them on indoors all you like. Once they've been worn outside, they can't come back.

What's new?

Rebuilt from the inside out. Five changes you'll feel on the daily walk.

  • Refined design

Sharper look. The toe cap sits flush now, and the cuff is softer on your shins.

  • Next-gen EVA

We taught the foam to stay loose when it's freezing. Now they walk like boots, not bricks. Warmer, too.

Loon'r Lo Rider in Floyd, side profile on white
  • Removable liner, improved

The liner leveled up. Pull it out, wash it, let it dry, tuck it back in. It dries quickly.

  • Liner retention tab

A little tab that keeps your liner home. You step out, it stays put.

  • Support and cushioning

More boot under your feet where it counts. Your arches noticed.

  • “We were outside in -15 weather and they were perfectly warm and they feel like walking on a marshmallow.” Naomi
  • “...like walking in warm cotton candy marshmallow clouds!” Jess
  • “I get no fewer than five compliments a day on these things...” Matthew
  • “What flip flops are for the beach, my Loon'rs are for the mountains.” Eric
  • “Dreamiest winter boots EVER!” Brooke

Three reviews from last season's boots.

I wore these boots 50 to 60 hours every week and my feet always stayed warm, dry, and comfortable… With Loon'rs, just my thin ski socks. Step in a deep puddle, no water gets in.

Robbie, lift operations manager at Killington

I literally opened the box, put the Loon'rs on, and went straight outside to shovel. There was about six inches of snow and sleet on the ground, but my feet stayed dry, the boots were comfortable, and I didn't slip once.

Laura, on day one

I've been looking for a boot I could just slip on and go… Loon'r boots fit fantastically. They're waterproof and my feet stay warm.

Common questions

The stuff people actually email us about.

What size should I order?

+

Start with your normal shoe size, the one you think you are before a new brand tells you otherwise. Want a second opinion? Stand on a piece of paper with your heel against a wall, mark the tip of your longest toe, measure the distance in inches, and match that to our . Our boots are unisex sized: the chart shows men's and women's columns side by side because the same physical boot fits both. If you fall between sizes, see the half-size question below.

Do they run small or big?

+

True to size. Order your normal shoe size. Between sizes? Size down. If your closet can't agree on what size you are, measure your foot (see above) and let the chart break the tie.

I'm between sizes. Up or down?

+

Size down. Our liner is built thick and breaks in after a few wears, so a snug-not-squished fit out of the box settles to just-right. Going up is where too much heel slip comes from: if you can't walk normally once they've settled in, you went a step too big. Order the smaller of the two, and exchange free within 30 days if it's not quite right.

Do they fit wide feet?

+

The EVA shell doesn't compress around the sides the way leather does. We're still gathering wide-foot feedback on this season's boots, so if yours turn out snug, exchanges are free for 30 days.

Are they stiff to walk in?

+

No. We redesigned the EVA to flex in the cold, so the boots walk like boots instead of like blocks.

How warm are they?

+

Comfortable across a wide range, roughly -25°F to +50°F. The cold rating gets the headlines, but the EVA insulates without cooking your feet, so these hold up from deep winter through mud season and shoulder weather. (Assumes a sock, the liner in, and you moving around.) Customers wear them for snow shoveling, dog walks, eight-hour outdoor shifts, and the school run when the forecast can't decide which side of the bed to get out of.

Caring for your boots

Spray the EVA with the garden hose. The liner washes on gentle and hangs to dry; a fan speeds it up.

Keep the shell away from heat.

Don't stage your boots on the front step in July sun for the gram (the color holds up but UV is not their friend).

Born in a muddy parking lot.

Loon'r boots in a muddy parking lot puddle between snowbanks

    March 2024, Silverton, Colorado

We were living out of a van during mud season, and we were not graceful about it. The unsung heroes of that week were the winter boots we'd brought back from Japan almost as an afterthought. Light, easy, warm. The boots we put on without thinking and somehow never took off.

So we made our own. The Lo Rider is the one we reach for most. Errands, dog walks, post-ski parking lots, breakfast burrito runs. The boot you put on and forget you're wearing.

    The whole story
    Loon'r Lo Rider replacement liner

    Keep a spare liner.

    Wet day, dry liner.

Pull the damp one, drop in the spare and head back out while the first one airs out.

    Washes easy.

Gentle cycle, then hang it to dry. A fan speeds it up.

    Same boot, fresh inside.

The shell keeps going. The liner gets a refresh.

    Give boring the boot.

The dog's third walk. The puddle dare. The porch hang that runs late. Slip them on and the answer is yes.

    Want a second opinion? Measure.

Stand on a piece of paper, heel against a wall. Mark the tip of your longest toe, then measure heel to mark. Match that number to the chart. Our boots are unisex, so the M and W labels are the same boot with different numbers. Between sizes or right on a line? Size down.

Snug is good. The liner breaks in after a few wears, so a snug-not-squished fit out of the box settles to just-right. And measure at the end of the day, when your feet are at their biggest.

Still on the fence? Email hello@loonr.com with your measurement and we'll point you to the right pair.
